Truffle Lodge Tent Names

Not just routine, the name for each tent is carefully selected

We don’t just ‘name’ our tents, we agonize and argue over the name …. sounds a bit like naming a baby, doesn’t it!

Each name means something specific to that tent. ‘Trout hollow’ stands above a great fishing hole, ‘Treetops’ is situated amongst the top branches of a huge gum.

‘Platypus point’ was so named because the workmen saw platypus immediately in front of that tent on almost every day that they worked building it.

When the workmen were erecting ‘Honeypot’, they were set upon by bees, and the huge hive in the adjacent tree had to be removed for work to be able to continue.

Sometimes the naming imperative is obvious, such as ‘Birdsong’, but my favourite is one of the new tents, erected near the last of the riverside gums, up the top of the river, and named ‘Top gum’, just for fun!
