Luxury Lodge Fire Pit

The Fire Pit always delights our guests, but this amazing sunset at Truffle Lodge totally enthralled (fair dinkum – no filters)

As the autumn arrives and the fire danger of high summer passes, we can start firing up of the fire pit. This always brings a sense of excitement.

However this year, nature itself seemed to celebrate the return of our very first outdoor fire. The lighting of the fire pit was accompanied by this spectacular display by nature herself. It took our breaths away.

Now the nights get cooler (ok, well yes, Tasmanian nights are usually cool, even in summer). Accordingly, sitting by the fires with a glass or two of a local top drop is a favourite guest pastime. And at Truffle Lodge guests have a choice of 4 fires to cosy around.

Guests also love it when we take the kitchen outside and cook their dinner on the fire pit. Fire cooking has undertaken a resurgence in recent years. I am delighted that this is so because I have such vivid memories of cooking on a camp fire in my youth. And on a recent stay at a desert camp in Rum Wadi I was treated to a feast which refreshed my appetite for the concept.

We have determined to embrace our fire pit cooking at Truffle Lodge even more in the coming seasons.
