Platypus Kayak is subject to availability on the tour.

Summer Platypus Kayaks:

 

Late afternoons or early mornings are the best times to go kayaking to see platypus. Because our days are long in the warmer months, we will schedule later 8.00pm dinners on the second night after guests return from any expeditions with kayaking tour groups.

 

We still have some availability for dates October to March which are perfect for kayaking with the platypus.

We will be happy to send you the link for kayaking experiences. Just make a note in the ‘Comments’ field of your reservation.

Southern Lights & Firepits Retreats:

 

Autumn is the best time for seeing the Aurora Australis at Truffle Lodge. But even if you do not see the Southern Lights, on a clear night our starry skies are breathtaking. Open firepits are also a feature of this package (fire restrictions permitting). Nothing beats sitting around a log fire in the crisp night air under a sky of endless stars.

Guidelines for booking.

 

  • If your preferred dates are not showing, please contact as we may be able to put you on a wait list. Truffle Lodge operates seasonally October – April
  • Truffle Lodge is absolute riverfront. Children, over 12 years old,  will need to be ‘young adults’, occupying their own room, and specified on the reservation request as adults. Your sleep accommodation is a tent so we do not accept youngsters and babies unless you book Exclusive Use of all 8 tents.
  • Your package will include complimentary Breakfasts & Dinners, and your meal reservation is automatic. Dinner is served to everyone at 7.00pm, breakfast at 8.00am.
  • We are fully licensed and our beverages are very reasonably priced. We source most of our beverages locally from small boutique producers who create exceptional wine. Our guests love that they can see one of our suppliers just across the river from us. We are not licensed for BYO so no BYO please, as refusal is awkward for everyone.
  • Please specify any dietary requirements in  your reservations request. Our set menus can accommodate vegetarian, gluten and lactose free.
  • It is a great help if you can also specify Estimated Time of Arrival. Please include the mobile that you will be using in Tasmania and we will set up connection with our Remote Concierge Service.
  • Your Booking Confirmation will be emailed. Payments will be charged on confirmation. You will hear from us again approximately 2 weeks before Check-in date at which stage we will email GPS, directions and map.
